I picked up a new LMT "Defender 2000" lower for $330 plus tax at Quantico Arms in Killeen, Texas the other day to replace a Bushmaster lower I sold.

It is really nice. It has an upgraded Ergo grip. The collapsible stock is a tight fit over the buffer tube. The fit and finish are nice.

I don't know what "Defender 2000" means, but I like it.

It adds 2000 hp to your defense of course. ....

"Defender 2000" is just the name that LMT gives their AR-15s, as far as I know.

Actually Defender is LMT's model designation for their semi-auto lowers. Select fire model lowers are called Guardian.

I mated a spare Bushmaster flat top carbine upper to the LMT lower that is the subject of this thread.

I finally got to shoot it yesterday. The stock ERGO grip is really great. The trigger and safety lever on the LMT seem slightly smoother than the Bushmaster lower it replaced.

No malfunctions. Fit and finish are very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I don't have any issues with Bushmaster lowers, though.

I've been happy with everything I've gotten from LMT. The only exception being a dog eared FSB but I didn't care because it was coming off anyways.
