Anyone here really like to shoot? Like 1000 rds in 3 days? If you do, you need to be in Montrose Colorado July 18-21 at the STI American Handgunner World Shootoffs. This is an adrenalin stimulating, intense, fun match. Where else can you go & shoot this much & leave with prizes worth at least as much as the entry fee? Every contestant that finishes the match gets to make a trip to the prize table. Also, this match is friendly to anyone in a wheelchair or with somewhat limited mobility. There is no running, or jumping involved, just drawing, shooting, & shooting some more. It is more fun than you can imagine! Last year was my first try at it but it sure won't be my last!!! ;a Who is interested? Email if you have questions, :) MLM

No one likes to shoot that much???? ;) ;P You don't know what you are missing, it is a blast, in a big way. Come on, give it a try. The mountains are beautiful, the air is clean, the competitors are awesome. This is better than shooting at a piece of paper on a string, not that that is bad, but this is way better. There are people there from as far away as Japan. It is a great match. MLM :)

Sounds great, but it's a little too far from SW Virginia for me to drive.

SW Virginia? That is a ways but golly some folks come from Michigan & really all over the U.S. plus several foreign countries. Angus Hobdell (sp?) is putting on a competitive shooting class the week of the match & he is quite a competitor. I believe he won the whole "shootin match" last year. There is a one day warm up match, with cash prizes, plus about 20 or more side matches, all with prizes, many of which are guns. Jerry Miculek usually wins a bunch of those but this year I believe he is gonna be at the "other" match. It is the time for the rest of us to win something :) Every class has it's own prize table & every prize table last year had at least one gun available on it. A lot of those guns last year were Springfields, (very nice guns!) Now that is a prize table! If a person is more than an armchair shooter & enjoys some great competition this is the place to go!
By the way, it is a 650 mile trip for us, not just an afternoon drive but I would go twice as far if I had to just to shoot this match. MLM

Well, it is getting nearer. Only 3 1/2 weeks & I can hardly wait. The excitement level is definitely growing. There is still time for you all to get in on this. I am talking adrenalin rush here folks!!!! Golly, just think how excited I would be if I were a good shooter? I think my wife is just about tired of me thinking about Montrose all the time. Oh, oh ;h Well, for those of you that are coming, we will see you there, for those that are missing it I feel sorry for you all. Maybe next year :) MLM

I will also be shooting the warm up match, the Winchester. I have forgotten, does it only pay the first place winner in each class or are there prizes for a few places down? I am shooting it of course to warm up & all but you know, prizes are kind of fun, :) also. I have about 2k match rounds loaded so I am good to go, plus I have maybe 1k practice rounds, also. 3 weeks & counting, here we go!!!! See you all there. MLM

Mark,

I'll be thinking of you enjoying the match in Colorado while I'm soaking up the heat in New Orleans!

WWC pays 1st and 2nd.
50% of the entries go to pay the top two spots at a 70/30% split.
There is also money for overall in each division.

I was reading about all the side matches that are on Wednesday. You know they are having a dynamite shoot? That is new to me. It is a fundraiser for a guy that a lot of the shooters know. He was burned in an accident. I am taking every kind of gun I own & every one I could borrow (thanks, Bobby Carver) :) for all of the side matches. Rifles, shotguns, 22s. Man what an incredible time! As if 1000 plus pistol rounds isn't enough, I need more!!! See y'all there. ;f MLM

This is the first year for the Dynamite Shoot.
Should be interesting!

I'm still working on a new truck (at least new to me) then I have to start on my ammo.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
