Over the past few months, I've acquired an EAA/Tanfoglio Witness Fullsize Polymer 10mm, Glock 20, CZ-82 and a set of Pearce rubber grips that I installed on my Bulgarian Makarov. I finally made the time to take them all to the range for the first time today and did pretty well with each of them (pics may follow if I get the chance). Not one of them felt as sweet in my hand as my Browning HP Mk III 9mm does. Does anyone know if the .40 caliber grip is the same size as the 9mm? How seriously should I consider the FN Hi-Power SFS .40 S&W for $489 in the latest CDNN catalog?

The .40 HP grip is identical to the 9MM, but the slide is thicker and heavier giving the gun a different feel and balance. The only .40 I still own is the HP. At one time I owned .40's from Glock, Sig, Beretta CZ, HK, etc. but the only one that impressed me was the HP.

+1 same grip, different feel due to weight, my favorite 40 cal also.

I regularly swap grips (Navidrix micarta, Hogue rubber, custom wood) between my 9mm & .40 S&W Hi-Powers. The above posts are correct. There's no (dimensional) difference in the grip area.

The .40 grips are interchangeable and ditto on the feel. I prefer the 9mm hi power for the feel, I own both and kinda wish I had bought a 2nd 9mm instead of the .40, but having the .40 It is one of my fav .40s and I am planning on having some work done to it like a nobite hammer and upgraded sites. It is going to be used for a CCW weapon.
