View Full Version : Installing Streamlight TLR-1 on G19
I recently installed a TLR-1 on my new G19. I used a coin to tighten it up, and now I'm thinking maybe I torqued it too much. Is that possible with a coin, and could over torquing deform the frame?
Streamlight claims installation without a tool. I don't know if a coin is ocnsidered a tool. I will have my TLR-2 tonight. I will see if finger tightening will hold under the recoil of my 10mm. I guess if you finger tigthening the light you should check it every 20 rounds or so just to make sure it stay put.

Yep, I read that as well, but have been told that finger tight will come loose after awhile, and that's why they put a slot on the knob, so you can make tighter than you can with fingers. I just afraid I over did it. I think when I get home, I'll loosen it up a bit, hand tighten, then give it a few extra degrees of turn with the coin.

I have the tlr "finger tight" both on my G-21 and the 12 guage shotgun. Never had any problems. Finger tight works for me.
