I applied for my CCW license renewal on January 23rd. It has been approx 7 weeks and I have heard nothing. I have tried to call them but it seems nearly impossible to talk to a real live human. Has anyone else applied for and received their renewal? Maybe next week one day I will drive out there and check. I would hate to think they have lost the application. The original application for license 4 years ago only took about 4 weeks.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Woops. Sorry to have tied up the thread. Today I received a phone call from an officer in Clermont county advising me that my renewal license is ready for pickup.
Mine took 7 weeks to process, so you may want to keep this in the back of your mind when applying for your renewal.
Clermont County Sheriffs Dept is the greatest.

I'm up to two weeks and counting waiting on renewal from Clermont Co. Very hard for me to understand why it takes more than a few days, since my address and other info is the same as four years ago, and I applied with Clermont the first time too.
What takes the time is they have to wait on the finger print check to come back from the FBI. My renewal at Warren county took less than 2 weeks so its hard to say.
You guys may have already seen this site, but.....

It is a nice tool to see if an adjacent county has a faster application processing time. It could have saved me a few weeks if I would have known about this site before I turned in my application.

Brian, mine took nearly 7 weeks but there was a problem with my fingerprints. The automatic scanner doohickey would not scan my prints clearly. I had to go next door to the lockup and they took my prints manually. This I understand adds time. At least I was told that by a friend. It takes longer because there is another step to be taken. someone must imput those ink prints into the data base. Yours will probably be only anothr week or so. I had a relative low number and was glad to see that we keep the same number. Great people though at Clermont Cy office. The young lady (Kathy) at the front desk is very helpful.

The call from Clermont Co. came about the time I made my last post. So, a little over two weeks for renewal.
My dad is in the same boat as you were, gjwheels. They had to take his fingerprints manually this time around. Sorry to hear that it took 7 weeks, that's beyond the time limit isn't it?
It took 9 calendar days for me here in Athens County. I feel pretty lucky.

Brian, I don't think I have been a bad boy but rather think it was a problem with the fingerpring doohickey. Two weeks for you?
If they must process these applications within a certain period of time, I am not aware of it. I think my son is coming up on 5 weeks since he applied for his renewal, also in Clermont County. We live in Hamilton County, although that shouldnt have anything to do with it.

They have 45 days, gjwheels. By the way my dad's renewal (with roller 'n' ink fingerprints like you) came through in three weeks and three days, i think.
