Hi thanks in advance,
I need a good low-medium velocity/recoil .357 load for my Sp101 and still be effective. Since I am regularly out with my two boys (2 and 5), there is a very real chance that I'll be shooting one handed in a SD situation since the little one likes/needs to be carried at times. I carry a S&W 60 no dash in a weak side pocket as back up as well.

In .357 I currently have Speer GD 158 and Hornady 140 XTP and Buffalo Bore 158 +P .38 LSWCHP. Would short barrel 135 GD, Golden Sabre 125's or Silver Tips be an easy shooting load? Point of aim/impact is important too.

**OBVIOUSLY being in a shooting with family near, let alone needing to shoot while holding one is FAR from optimal, but not unimaginable.**

I purposely bought the RBCD .357 ammo for my M&P340 for the very reason you lay forth here. I carry a Charter Bulldog .44SP as my primary (for now) and the 340 as my weak side pocket gun (though it has become my primary more times than not since I got it). There are differing opinions about RBCD, and those that argue their side are vehement about it...so I will leave you with an option to research. I can tell you felt recoil is much lower in the RBCD than in the Speer Gold Dot Short Barrels (but even they aren't THAT bad).

I have tried all kinds of 357 loads in my SP 101. The 125 grain Golden Saber load is a good medium power loading for SD with less recoil than the full power 125's like the Federal JHP or the 158 loadings in 357 Magnum. Your BB 158 LSWHP +P would be a good pick as well.
