Ammo was a whole 18 rounds of Magtech 240gr SJSP .44 mag.
Yes, my eyeballs were wasted from shooting the rimfires and quite honestly, shooting this thing hurts like a beyotch.:faint:
I shot DA at 30ft, then SA at 50 and 75ft.

Nice shooting. I have owned a couple of 3" 629's they are a handful with magnum loads. Currently I shoot a Model 24 with 3" barrel. The .44 special is a pleasure to shoot in comparison.
Thinking of getting .357 3in revolver what do you reccomend? I want all steel no sc/ti no 12 oz. want to be fun to shoot.
As I have only s&w 642 am thinking about expanding my Revolver selection,have mostly pistols now. Starting to think small collection of revolvers would be nice change of pace. What would be good everyone should have revolver? Can't afford colts.

A 3" Gp100 would be a good choice.:wavey:

Berto any advantages of Gp100 over Sp101 ? Seems like your the snub guru. This is probably gonna cost me again. Buy Ruger then buy grips no end in sight.
thanks for your advice.
Oh crap don't call me a guru.:shocked::ack:
I have the three inch versions of both guns. Both are going to be bombproof durable and both can be carried pretty easily. If I had to let one go, it'd be the SP101 simply because the role can be filled by any of my S@W snubs whereas the GP100 does a better job than any of my K frame smiths in roughly the same package.
IOW, the GP is more user friendly as a shooter with full power magnums and carries about as well as my K frame S@W. The SP gives up a round in capacity, still whoops pretty hard with full power mags and carries only slightly better than a K frame.
Does that make sense?:supergrin:
Thanks for the info, for someone like me just getting into wheel guns I guess you seem to know quite a bit. No Guru though.
