Hey y'all,

I'm looking at a used Ruger Bisley .22 that I can get delivered into my hot little hands for a grand total of $285. It allegedly has about 50 rounds through it and is in good condition. A new one will run me about $360. Is this a good deal?

I've got a Bisley Vaquero in .357 which I love, and want to add a .22 revolver. I've already got a 22/45. Can I expect the same accuracy out of the Bisley .22 that I get out of the 22/45?

Thanks in advance,

I had a Bisley .22lr...I kick myself often for selling it. As for accuracy, as with any gun, YMMV.

As for price, I've seen NEW Bisleys around my parts (NW Indiana) for around $309. Your price seems a little on the high side. However, since a new one would run you $360, your price seems okay.

Ask the seller if he's done anything at all to the internals, action job, or spring kit.

I PAID 175 BUCKS FOR ONE LNIB A WHILE BACK, ADMITTEDLY A GOOD DEAL. BUT DOWN AT FIRST STOP IN RCSD THEY HAD TWO USED ONES FOR SALE AT 189 BUCKS APIECE AND THEY WERE THERE FOR A LONG TIME WAITING FOR ADAPTION. ONE MAY STILL BE THERE MATTER OF FACT.

Thanks for the responses.

I was thinking that seemed high, that's why I posted it. The price of the gun itself is $240, plus $20 shipping, and my local shop charges $25 to "receive" it, which includes a $10 fee to the state for the priviledge of doing a useless background check (useless because I already have a CCW as well as all those other background checks for other guns I've bought).

I originally thought I should be able to find a used one for $200 or less; glad to see I'm not crazy.

Terry M, I sent you an email in response to your post.

I like the looks and feel of those, myself. I've read more than one post which commented that the weight of the piece grew cumbersome really quick. As for me, why can't they put some adjustables on the BearCat?;f

After spending some time with the 3-1/2 pound .357 Bisley Vaquero I'm not going to be too worried about the weight of the .22 version. :)

Just a little update (in case anyone other than me is interested... :) )...

I checked again with my local shop, and I was off on their price: A new one will run me only $330, not $360. And that $330 includes the State's $10 cut for re-checking my background.

I also checked out Terry's previously posted source: All the used ones are gone, and they too charge $330 for a new one.

So now the choice is down to $330 for a new one, or $45 less for a used one, purchased from someone I don't know, all the way across the country, which I would have to buy sight unseen. I've had luck with Internet purchases before, but one questions the worth of it to save $45...

Or I could wait and see if I stumble across a used one locally. Where I get all of two gun shows a year, and just went to one of them last month. Sigh.
