I'm thinking seriously about upgrading my G34.

Looking at an F1 trigger job, feed ramp polishing, WTS - Sevigny competition sights and an aftermarket match barrel from GunRacing.com.

Feedback?

Other than sights and the ".25" trigger job, I would shoot the 34 as is. Glock barrels shoot just fine from the factory. Unless you are competing in Bullseye and wish to shoot a 1" group at 50 yards, no reason to change it out. Spend the extra money on ammo.

Well, I'd want a better trigger than the $.25, but I am spoiled by years on the 1911.
But the factory barrel will hit the Zero as far as any IDPA CoF will need it to.
I like a red fibre optic front sight and a black rear.

I have a Henie slant pro rear and a Dawson FO front, Vanek trigger, KKM barrel, grip tape and a standard slide release. The KKM barrel is more for shooting lead than needed for IDPA. I like this set up a lot.

Really don't think there is any benefit to polishing a Glock feed ramp. I've never had a FTF on any Glock.

Seeing as you are a seasoned 1911 shooter you might want to look at www.clockworx.com triggers, I have their full competition kit in my 34 and it is worth every penny.

+1

run it stock except for the sevigny sights. The only polishing my glock feed ramps gets is the 10's of thousands of rounds that go through them and the only thing close to a trigger job i have ever done is the thousand times a week the trigger gets pulled during live fire/dryfire.

I've tried different barrels in my 34, and my 35, and even though other people have told me about their Glocks that shoot under an inch at 25 yards, with the ammo mine like best, the best they will do is about 2" at 25 yards. I'd LOVE to have one that would be capable of inch groups at 50 yards!!

Yes, the stock sights and trigger suck!

Even though I like the Dawson optics with green on the front, and red in the rear, some people find it too distracting. You have to use what works best for you.
