I'm needing some advise on weapon selection. I'm drawing a blank besides S&W 686 and I don't like 686s.

I need it for fit into the service revovler or auto class, as it will probably be my new duty weapon.

I have a G38 now, and a G19. But I'm thinking I'm going to need a more accurate weapon for PPC.

I don't shoot the revolver 1500 because I'm poor. I do shoot the SA 1500 with me G35 and do pretty well with it. Just need a better trigger and better trigger work with the fingers.

That being said, one of the top PPC shooters in my state runs a custom Colt. The remaining run S&W flavors.

Back when they allowed "civilians" to shoot PPC, I shot a Python before there WAS a 686. A friend of mine still in the game as a reserve cop shoots one of the late K38s with full lug barrel. If you want a 4" revolver for the duty gun division and real duty, a plain old M15 or M19 K-frame S&W would be about the best choice.

I don't know what is being done in the service auto side.
A GOOD Beretta is very accurate, and Sig Sauers are not bad.

You would do about as well to carry and compete with a G17 unless you wanted to focus on winning matches.
