I read in another forum that someone was having their mags pop out on the second to last round. I have about 600 rounds through mine and I would say this is happening about 50% of the time. The post also said that Kahr was sending a replacement all metal catch. What exactley is this, and is it easy to replace? I was also wondering if it is common for the back of the frame to seem almost sharp? It seems like no matter how hard I hold on th the gun every time I fire this gun it cuts the knuckle at the base of my thumb. Are there any recomendations for this. And lastley I will admit that I am new to handguns but myself and two other people (at a IDPA class) have fired the gun, and at 10 yrds and it shoots 4' low and 3' left should I look into having the sights adjusted? I have a H&K p2000sk and dont seem to have any problem hitting on target out to 25 yrds at all. I really do like this gun, but I traded in a PM9 for it and now that summer is here Im looking for a small cary that I can conceal well and am starting to wonder if this is the right gun for me. One last thing, after the 200 rd break in this gun has fed and ejected every round so I know it is reliable, if I can just figure these other things I'll be all set.
And I was considering buying a PM45 too!

I have a PM45 and have not had the mag fall out yet. I have put around 350 rounds through this pistol. I'm a lefty with large hands. If I use too much of my trigger finger (past the first joint) when squeezing the trigger,I will pull my shots down and right. If I make a concious effort to squeeze the trigger using no more then the pad of my finger, the shots are to point of aim. I'm only guessing that you and the other shooters of your pistol are all right handed shooters and possibly using too much of your finger when fireing. Carefully sanding down the sharp points on the back strap and front should help eliminate the cut fingers. Anytime I plan on shooting more then 50 rounds I wear a glove. Hope this helps!

ive noticed on the 45s that ive sold that you have to seat the mag firmly. on one i took the base plates off and removed a small amount of plastic frome the top that seats against the frame and that helped, but you still need to seat them firmly. the mag release is simple to replace. remove the slide and fromt the top or bottom, which ever is easier for you, go inside the frame with a small screwdriver and pry the mag release spring away from the release and it comes right out. the spring sits in a hole, just pull it out and reassemble. regards rick
I think you're talking about my post on this forum. I just got the new mag catch and leaf spring in the mail this afternoon.
My mags bases don't touch the end of the magwell so that's not an issue for my weapon, but I know what you mean about seating them firmly. Even so, this is a weapon problem, not a shooter problem. Kahr was quick to offer to send me the replacement parts.
I'll let you know how the new mag catch and spring work.

JR1, Thank you, Please post if you get any range time after you change them out. Also please let me know how hard they are to change.
The mag catch and spring swap wasn't too hard. The only tool I needed was a dental pick. It's just like changing out a Glock's. It took me about 5 minutes. The odd thing is the new mag catch looks identical to the old one. I even mic'd the dimentions and I can't tell what could be different.
Anyway, I put 50 rounds of 230 grain Rem. GS with no malfs and the mag never left the well uncommanded. I shot all strings loaded 5+1 as always.
This might just be my "if I only had one gun" gun. It fits my hands perfectly. Small, reliable, accurate as a full sized .45, and powerful. It's just a great little blaster. Now, someone make a good holster for it, please! :)

Not sure if you like em, but Mitch Rosen does have the Clipper for the PM45. For some reason Kahr has not updated their website to include it. I had it for my pm9 and a friend of mine uses it for his Mk both of us give it a +.

I do make a pocket holster for the PM45. I carry the PM45 as a bug at work. PM me if interested.
