I am in Connecticut and my brother is flying up for a visit and we have Red Sox tickets for 4-29-08.

Since my brother is flying into Boston on the day of the game, we need to squeeze in as much sightseeing as possible before the game. He lands about 1pm.

Since parking is so pricey, I came up with the following strategy, let me know if it seems folly.

Park my car at the airport for cheaper prices. My bro and I take the public train downtown, and use it to go to Fenway later in the day for the game.

Here is the million dollar question: Any downtown hotels with reasonable rates? Or recommended by someone.

Is it a good idea to airport park, or should I fight for a space downtown, it is on a weekday

OR

Would it be better to take train back to airport after the game and drive out of Boston for better rates?

Are you living in Connecticut? If so a day trip isn't that bad to Boston. Instead of driving there, take the train you will thank yourself later.

I am living in Connecticut, but moving out of here on the 28th, the day before the game. So the train isn't an option, my car will be loaded with stuff to go back to Ohio with my brother to help me drive.

Thanks for the suggestion.

If you park a car in Boston (any part thereof, including the airport) that is obviously loaded with "stuff", you can expect to find it either broken into or stolen!

I envy you. I worked at Cedar Point for the last 5 summers as a firefighter/EMT. I loved Ohio and want to move back. In general the people are so much nicer and less stuck up out there.

That whole area is nice and not overly crowded, except during summer. My wife and I bicycle Marblehead in the spring and fall, on the roads with traffic, and never a problem. Nice view of cedar point from marblehead too. Canada next door, beckoning with a cuban cigar. I like that area.

I like to travel too though, can't wait to see boston. Been there once, but didnt see any sights, just hard rock cafe and fenway.
