Glockstenstein 04-17-2008, 00:54 Check it out: http://www.jessieabbate.com SureThing 04-28-2008, 14:57 She is so Hot. deadday 04-28-2008, 17:04 You can have her, I want her life....To be paid to shoot...And play with new guns... drew Calculated 04-28-2008, 18:26 That girl is smoking HOT!!!!!!!!! Glockmeister40 04-28-2008, 20:11 WoW I am so glad that little cowgirl decided to come grace Team Glock with her precence :) Besides being absolutely drop dead gorgeus she can shoot too. What a woman MrPingPing 04-29-2008, 12:19 That girl is smoking HOT!!!!!!!!! She is so Hot. You all said the same thing about that other moon-faced chick that shot for Glock before that went to Smith & Wesson too. gary newport 04-29-2008, 18:41 You all said the same thing about that other moon-faced chick that shot for Glock before that went to Smith & Wesson too. All girls are hot...if they can shoot a Glock that well! (However, Jessie does seem to have a couple of advantages....") Mark L Miller 04-29-2008, 19:40 Edited to say Jessie is a great shooter & seems to be well liked by those who know her. Makes nice pictures, I suppose. MLM[/QUOTE] Well, Holy Terror is on Team Glock too. I hear she's friendly and approachable. On the shirt thing, I suspect a lot of shirts are a bit too small for Jessie. EDITED! gary newport 04-29-2008, 20:02 Edited! ecmills 04-29-2008, 22:21 Well, Holy is on Team Glock too. I hear she's friendly and approachable. Randi is cool. Very friendly, a lot like talking to Dave, really. Just down-to-earth people who know they're fortunate to do what they do. After the Tri-State IDPA match, a group of us locals took Randi out to eat so she wouldn't be sitting around in a hotel room all night, including my wife and I. Nice as could be. Never been within a hundred miles of Jesse that I'm aware of, so I have no hint what she's like. :) South Fla 04-30-2008, 08:28 Edited! Ankeny 04-30-2008, 08:36 Why would you hunt a zebra in the first place? To make a rug? It's kind of saddening to hear unkind words about the newest member of Team Glock. I have had the pleasure of squadding with Dave and Randi and they are truly ambassadors of the sport. You won't find better people anywhere. Hozer 04-30-2008, 09:11 Why would you hunt a zebra in the first place? They are mean bastards. Nothing but a big, ugly, pissed off horse with an attitude. Buzzing a herd of them at 250 kts at 75 feet is good fun. gary newport 04-30-2008, 15:00 They are mean bastards. Nothing but a big, ugly, pissed off horse with an attitude. Buzzing a herd of them at 250 kts at 75 feet is good fun. Sounds like my kind of horse. In fact, it sounds a lot like ME--except zebras aren't ugly! I don't understand why anyone would shoot a zebra for fun either. EASY1 05-01-2008, 10:44 I'm glad they upgraded her uniforms. Right after she signed on for glock, she appeared to be wearing someone else's shirts(maybe Julie's?). They were really way too small for her!!!! Now she is wearing some more appropriate size shirts. hahaha. She sort of embarassed herself at the awards for the nationals when her husband had DQ'd the match & she just couldn't handle it. It appeared she was blaming everyone but him for it. She was all teary eyed & stuff & just was well, embarassing to be honest. I'm sure she is a nice person & all but she is no Julie Goloski, that is for sure. Julie was very approachable, Jessie is just a fancy shooter. No friendliness in her unless you are somebody important or that is the experience I had when I tried to talk with her. Some got it, some don't. No reflection on her. She is pretty shiny, though & a really good shooter. Makes nice pictures, I suppose. MLM Its very rude to talk about ladies that way. Since you don't know what happened at the nationals, maybe you should do a little research before you put your foot in your mouth. As far as Jessie not being approachable, I would not blame her at at for ignoring someone with your attitude. vrmn1 05-01-2008, 11:06 I'm glad they upgraded her uniforms. She is as hard a working shooter as I know. She is where she is because she spends countless hours on the range "SHOOTING" everyday making herself better. As far as her speach at the nationals well you are the only person I have ever heard speak of that in an ill way. You don't know what happened so you should proabbly leave it alone. B Coyote 05-01-2008, 18:05 Maybe I'm just looking at things from a different perspective, but I personally think it's great that there's a woman behind the trigger. Women sometimes see other women doing things and are more willing to try it themselves. The sport needs more female blood, and if seeing Jessie/Randi behind a gun gets even ONE new shooter to the sport, I feel they've done their jobs well. bc B Coyote 05-01-2008, 18:08 Sounds like my kind of horse. In fact, it I don't understand why anyone would shoot a zebra for fun either. I don't either.... That said: It's legal, supports the local economy (obviously where the hunt takes place) and AFAIK the meat actually feeds the families of the guides/workers assisting with the hunt. Remember, not everyone understands why we're all addicted to killing cardboard, either. bc Mark L Miller 05-01-2008, 18:25 Edited to say Jessie is a great shooter & is well liked by those who know her. TGReaper 05-02-2008, 00:47 Mark:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Perhaps you would better understand the nature of the problem with your comments if I made it a point to make lewd, suggestive remarks to YOUR wife or daughter about their anatomy, and critical and insensitive remarks about their personality. It is patently obvious that you've never met Jessie. Your comment, "Jessie is just a fancy shooter. No friendliness in her unless you are somebody important" makes that VERY clear. As her HUSBAND, I'm obviously partial to her, and you can rest assured that I will defend her against public attacks such as your ignorant comments. Will everyone who meets Jessie like her? Probably not. But you will not find a better ambassador to the shooting sports, whether it is cowboy action shooting (of which she is a WORLD CHAMPION), Steel Challenge (of which she is a WORLD CHAMPION), USPSA (of which she is a NATIONAL CHAMPION), or Multi-Gun (of which she is a National Champion) than Jessie. It's funny that of the thousands of people who have met Jessie, you're the only one who has seen fit to make such negative comments about her. At a time when we should be promoting women and juniors in the shooting sports, geniouses like you see fit to show their stupidity. As for her comments about my highly inappropriate DQ at the Limited Nationals last year, you should be so lucky to have someone stand up for you in the way that my wife stood up for me. I've been a USPSA competitor for 23 years, 20 of those as a GM. This was the first and only time I've ever been DQ'd in a major match. An R.O., who was NOT the CRO, DQ'd me for breaking the 180 during a draw. It simply did not happen. Perhaps if you saw the video you would understand what the stink was all about. You will probably never understand what it takes to become a champion, nor suffer the disappointment after having shot tens of thousands of rounds in preparation for an event, only to be sent home inappropriately. But you seem like the type of person who is not interested in facts. Characterize Jessie’s speech as "unprofessional" if that’s how you saw it, but you're the only person who has reached that conclusion. Posts like those above where the guys referred to Jessie as "hot" are not offensive and don't warrant comment. But you stepped over the line. Your keyboard bravado might fly in a forum such as this. Should your path ever cross with me or my wife in the future, I'd suggest you use a much more civil tongue. Billy Abbate South Fla 05-02-2008, 02:01 Edited! Mark L Miller 05-02-2008, 07:50 I will reiterate. I'm sure she is a nice person. She is also a great shooter. I'm glad you support her as she supports you. You are also a great shooter & a great gunsmith. Intersting what sets people off & what doesnt. I'll edit all my previous posts. How about that? If you get those other two friends of yours to edit theirs, this will disappear, how about that? Then there is no evidence I see things differently than the rest of the world. Does that ease your anger any? If we meet in person, you will find I am the same as anyone else. I am polite until people are rude to me. I am outgoing until folks snub me. I see things, I remember things, I form opinions, just like anyone else. If that doesn't work for you, so be it. I do not give someone extra bonus points because they are a great shooter or treat them any differently because they shoot for a living. It is just a game & some people can make a living at this game. Good for them. You willing to leave this alone or not? MLM Tailhunter 05-04-2008, 19:37 Edit: nevermind, I have no comment. Don't let the nay sayers disturb you... As far as Zebra hunting, so what? Ever killed a deer? If its legal there, then more power to her... I've always wanted to go on an exotic game hunt... Morris 05-07-2008, 01:03 Jesse: Your husband and I have written back and forth on this but I want to publicly state that I am appreciative of your skills in the games world as well as participation with Glock. Both you and Julie Goloski are real and honest role models I want my daughters to look at and be inspired by. Glock Dave 05-08-2008, 10:40 You got a leather wallet? Leather on your shoes? Wifes purse? You mean from the cow that was also used for food? At least I didn't stand over it it after it was killed and take a picture of myself with it just so I can feel cool and powerfull. rhino465 05-09-2008, 11:30 While friends and family have every right to defend their favorite shooter, I hope they learn to understand that once someone becomes a public figure, you're going to hear and read a lot of things you won't like. Life will be better if you get a thicker skin and learn to ignore it. rhino465 05-09-2008, 11:33 I don't hunt, but I think it's a really good thing when a hunter appreciates the value of the animal they've just killed. Praising its beauty is a way to demonstrate that one understands the nature and consequences of their actions. Those who disapprove of killing animals for sport are certainly free to express their opinions, but the rest of us are equally free to gauge the value of your opinion, find it sadly lacking, and disregard it completely. South Fla 05-09-2008, 18:09 Edited! Such as Cyotes, House Sparrows, fire ants, killer bees, etc... I rank those people just as bad as those who kill black snakes just because they are snakes. IMO, you should only kill to keep populations in check or to eat the animal. I think this is how most people feel, but you get those extreme wackos on both ends of the spectrum. Glock Dave 05-10-2008, 13:08 Why kill something just because you can? Does it make you feel better about yourself? Does it satisfy some type of insecurity or lack of self esteem? What if God went around striking people down just for the fun of it? Hozer 05-10-2008, 15:53 Randi shot the SC State IDPA match a couple weeks ago. Of course, any of the above in a survival situation. Dude! You've never eaten ostrich? Not even an ostrich burger? Hie thee to the nearest Brazilian steakhouse or similar exotic game-serving eatery and try it. Monkeys are too chewy from what I hear. I have a buddy who lived on monkey and rice when he was running around in the jungles of SE Asia back in the late 1960s. Monkey is the only thing he won't eat now. And I believe that some people do hunt giraffes as trophy animals. blownhemi 05-11-2008, 19:21 What if God went around striking people down just for the fun of it? He does. Do I hunt? not any more. I enjoy shooting IPSC but I certainly don't have any objections about those that do choose to hunt. I eat meat, I love eating meat and it would be hypocritical of me to suggest that anyone should hunt or harm an animal when animals die every day to support my meat habit. What we have here is the Bambi factor? I'll leave it at that. gruntmedik 05-12-2008, 07:14 :arg: Back on topic, yes she Jessie is beautiful, but what adds to that is the fact that she is one heck of a skilled competitor. Morris 05-12-2008, 09:23 Holy thread drift Batman! I would love my oldest daughter to watch these young ladies in action at one of the games, be excited by what she saw and join the old man in his love of shooting sports. This is one of those sports where men and women compete equally, despite separate classifications. South Fla 05-12-2008, 18:02 Edited! Ankeny 05-12-2008, 20:04 rhino: I stand corrected. I suppose I was just being one third sanctimonious and two thirds hypocrytical. My spelling sucks.:faint: Morris 05-15-2008, 16:49 Back to the topic . . . As I previously mentioned, I chatted with Billy Abbate about this thread and also about competition in general, especially for women shooters. It's a topic of interest as I have daughters and I shoot. A real gent and his lady was equally nice. My daughter received a personally noted and signed promo photo card from Jesse today. My oldest loves that sort of thing and I really hope it gets her excited about shooting, especially competitve shooting. Well done Mrs. Abbate! Coffee and dinner is on me and my family when you make it this way! gruntmedik 05-17-2008, 21:11 I had the pleasure of meeting Jessie today in Louisville, KY at the NRA Convention. I must say, she is the most polite, approachable celebrity I have ever met. She was more than willing to talk, sign autograph's, whatever. My only wish is my wife and daughters were there to meet her as well. It was my pleasure to meet her.
