I would be very grateful for your help. I apologize at the outset for this being a non-Glock question. Yesterday, I was cleaning my german made 80's vintage P226 after shooting it for the first time (it was NIB). I noticed a ring of powder residue in the breech face/striker area which would not clear when scrubbed with an old tooth brush and Hoppe's solvent. Then I had the bright idea of using a bronze brush; The residue did not clean (it cleaned afterwards, when I used a copper brush), and the breech face area was stained a gold color, which I cannot now get rid off!!! Could anyone please help me to get rid of this golden color??? What do I need to do besides learning the lesson??? Thanks for your help!!
