rust spots over the tenifer?

lately, i have been carrying my glock "mexican" with an empty chamber and as such it is basically drenched in perspiration during the hottest times of the day. I have noticed that there seems to be some rust like spots forming on the part of the slide that is most often wet but can rust actually form on top of the finish?

it's not rust like that would form on a blued steel but just spots, i dunno maybe CLP will take care of it.

the black outer finish is very much intact but is not as glossy on the affected parts, i guess any metal surface will eventually succumb to saline exposure?

The same with my Glock, a 1st gen G21 that's been with me for 14 years.

In my G21, traces of rust form on the slide whenever the lube dries out. Specifically, it's on the forward edge the ejection port- the one that touches the rectangular stepped edge above the barrel chamber.

I think repeated engagement of those two surfaces everytime the slide cycles has somehow compromised the Tennifer protection in those spots. After all, the Tennfier process hardens only a very thin layer of the slide & barrel surface.

It's not bad really. I just wipe it off and lube the affected spots.
