Congratulations to Swede20 (Dave Erickson) for winning a Gold medal in the California Police and Fire Games. He was the overall match winner and beat out top competitors from LAPD, LASO, and Long beach PD (including Darin Davenport). He managed this while going against race guns using a stock Glock 20(Heinie Race cut sights and a 3.5 connector) and a safariland Raptor holster. This was a tough all steel match which included shooting at a 5 inch plate rack from 20 yards prone. Great Job.;c ;c ;c ;c

I was the RO on Monday for stage 1, and I remember that Erickson's time of 37 seconds was smoking fast. The average time for that stage was about 100 seconds with some competitors running empty at the prone mat and taking 150 seconds in misses for the two remaining shooting positions. There were no 'race guns' allowed, but I was surprised at the number of departments carrying STI's!
Most of the guns were Glocks, Berettas (LAPD) and 1911's with a some Sigs, a couple of S&W wheelguns and 1 Ruger. One agency had to use the S&W 99 in 40, and the whole team couldn't get one mag thru the gun without a FTF.
Excellent run Swede20. Looks like you need to move up from Grand Master....
