I picked up a lasermax guide rod laser for my G29 and I noticed that when I holster it, the laser becomes engaged sometimes. Now I have a dead battery, where is the best place to buy these. The batteries are the LMS 319, I found a lasermax outlet site but do not know if it is legit.

If you can't find them anywhere else, I think this is the battery you need at Radio Shack..... http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103189

I'm thinking, if you were to call LaserMax customer service, and politely describe the problem, they will send you a new battery pack, and perhaps, a different activation switch. Ask for Bob... One GT member solved the matter in this way.
Another member here, fixed the problem by drilling a hole in the holster, in the precise location of the activation switch.
MidwayUSA sells the LaserMax battery packs. It's a good item, like SureFire batteries, to throw on a routine supply or ammo order. The factory battery packs are shrink-wrap bundled, for easier loading and better contact.
I just put new batteries in Judy's (G19) LaserMax, from a 02/2006 purchase! My G21 still has original batteries...

MagnumMik, is yours possibly turning itself off and on under recoil?
I just picked up a used G29 that came with the LaserMax unit already onboard, and mine has this annoying habit. In broad daylight at the range it's awfully hard to tell when it has switched itself on.
And... there must be a time-out function on it. I find it turned on with no output, turn it off and on a few times to no effect, then turn it on a few minutes later and it seems to work fine. Or... is this how they act with a close to dead battery pack?:dunno:

Well actually I have not fired it yet. I purchased the gun last week and hope to get it out to the range this weekend. I noticed that the laser will activate when I put in the holster, its a MTAC CompTac inside the waist holster which seems to fit the gun well. The activation switch just seems fairly loose. I think I will call lasermax as suggested and see if they have a solution.
