I mentioned in another thread that I am always looking for ways to squeeze a little bit more accuracy out of my prairie dog gun. It was my first AR and when I built it I ordered a Stag stripped upper receiver. I have been very pleased with the rifle and had no issues with the receiver. Now I am starting my third AR build and ordered a Wilson Combat stripped upper. In the description listed on Midway USA's website they talk about how precisely machined the receiver is.
Since my latest build is a lightweight 16 in carbine, accuracy isn't nearly as important to me as on the prairie dog rifle. So is a more precisely machined reciever going to have any effect at all on my rifles accuracy, or does it simpy improve the fit up to the lower receiver? If it does affect accuracy, is the difference between the Wilson and the Stag going to be noticeable enough to justify switching the receivers on my prairie dog gun?
Thanks.
