View Full Version : FTF Sale in Ohio
In a FTF transaction= me selling someone else from Ohio one of my Glocks.
Do I need to do anything else other than check the driver's license and CCW license of the person to whom I'm selling and show him my information?
Is it okay to include a box of range ammo along with the gun?
Just wondering...
Thanks,

You are correct except for the fact that you do not have to see a CCW/CHL. Many people don't want that advertised even to those we know. So you may want to make sure he knows you'd like to see one.
The only other thing besides verify by valid license is execute a simple sales contract. This way I know the serial number on the gun, the date, who it went to and their general info. That way you're both covered. I always make sure I give the other party a copy of it as well. I've never had any complaints about that and have actually given out copies of the form/contract I drafted.

+1 You really don't have to have a copy of anything. In fact, if you and I were doing a deal, I could hand you the cash, you hand me the gun and then we both go our ways.
However, it's not a bad idea to do what the above poster said and draw up just a simple contract with the person's name and address.
Arods right. He gives you the money, you give him the gun, you both walk away.

+1 That's the way I do it every time.
