Will any sight made for the 17 work on the 34? I'm looking at the Meprolight Adjustable set and I can only find that they work on the 17,19,20,21,22,23. Appreciate the info.

Appreciate the info. gary newport 04-24-2008, 22:21 Since I have a set of Meprolight adjustable night sights on MY G34, I can assure you that they will work! Butch 04-24-2008, 22:22 They should.....AFAIK, the only thing that has been a problem is when a very long front sight is used (like a fiber optic type), they may hang out over the front edge of the opening in the top of the slide behind the front sight. If you want to be sure, call them and ask! :patriot: gary newport 04-24-2008, 22:25 They should.....AFAIK, the only thing that has been a problem is when a very long front sight is used (like a fiber optic type), they may hang out over the front edge of the opening in the top of the slide behind the front sight. If you want to be sure, call them and ask! :patriot: The rear of the front sight does hang over the opening a bit. It hasn't proven to be a problem. The front isn't as long as many fiber-optic fronts, but, as WalterGA used to say, it is slightly shorter than the Empire State Building! This would be a great place for a picture! :) Is your's an early G34? :patriot: gary newport 04-24-2008, 22:33 This would be a great place for a picture! :) Is your's an early G34? :patriot: Nope, Butch, all my Glocks are Gen3, purchaed new in 2003 or later. (I sold a Gen2 G21 I once owned.) Unfortunately, I've never gotten around to buying a digital camera! :dunno: Glock-Twenty 04-24-2008, 23:16 The rear of the front sight does hang over the opening a bit. It hasn't proven to be a problem. Yeah... I'm not going to use a ported barrel so I don't think a little over hang will be an issue for me. I can't imagine it would create a snag in your holster. If it does I guess I can file it down a little. Does the rear sight hang over the back edge of the slide at all. I can't imagine that being a problem either but I was just curious. How do you like the Meprolight Adjustables on the Glock 34? In my experience they make some of the brightest most durable sights I've used. I like them far better than trijicon. WUSSCVR 04-25-2008, 02:40 Only the front sight hangs over, the rear sight is flush with the back of the slide. I have used a ported barrel with mine and there does not seem to be a problem other than crud on the sight. The front post is very high, you may have a hard time finding a holster for it. I currently use a modified (ie sanded down) Blackhawk CQC holster which works fine after a little modification. Other than that I love these sights, they are extremely bright and allow for rapid target acquisition. But you're right, the Meps are the brightest sights I've used and I've used just about all of them. Since my night vision ain't what it used to be when I was younger, the brighter sight really helps me out. I wished they made them with yellow rears though. But Green/Green is something I'm used to. Thanks for the info guys. Looks like my 34 is Meprolight bound. gary newport 04-25-2008, 18:08 WOW That's a fat front blade. Be aware that the big Mepro front sight won't fit some brands and models of holster. Ask before buying. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
