So I finally received the PM45 from Ordanance Outsellers. I'm using it for a secondary duty gun to my G-21 in an uncle mikes vest holster which cost around 12 bucks and it the most effective one I've found. So I take it to our range and figure I put a few rounds through it before qualifying with it. Quals for off duty or secondary consist of 15 rounds at 22 ft at your own pace. Nothing difficult.
Due to reading that 200 rounds is needed for proper break-in and reliability, I fully expected a few jams here and there. I only fired around 45-50 rounds before the qualification to get a feel for it. Here's my impressions of it.
1. It was reliable. It didn't jam.
2. Although it kicks some, it's not bad at all. I think a PM40 would be a lot worse.
3. Every 3rd or 4th spent brass was ejected back into and bounced off my forehead. :dunno: Still not a big deal to me for a BUG.
4. The factory sights were good.
5. Trigger is AWESOME! It made me shoot the gun better than I normally would a small glock or revolver.
6. Fit and finish were EXCELLENT. I didn't expect this at first.
Okay, so I'm very impressed with the small size, trigger and it seems to function well. Here's some pictures I took.
Large Close up.

BTW, the holster's were designed for G-27s. It fits perfectly.
Duty round is the Federal 230Gr. +P HST but I think I'll load it up with 185 gr. Silvertips. I was thinking about the 165 gr. Personal Protection, but I'm not sure about reliability in such as light 45 round.

Glad to see another happy PM45 owner in the crowd. I've had mine a couple of months. I've put around 400 rnds through it. I carry it off duty and as a back up to my service weapon.

Yah, eventhough I've only got around 50 rounds through it, I carried it in the black holster yesturday to dinner. Hardly noticed it since I'm used to a USP45Compact. Someone said it felt like a watergun. Good description.

Hey guys....
Seeing 2 of you own a PM45, I have a couple of questions.
I currently have a PM9, which I love. I would like a little more stopping
power. The gun would be used as a primary while I am doing UC work,
and would then become a BUG when I go back into uniform.
What is the recoil like compared to a PM9? Is the PM45 small enough
for ankle carry with a good rig?
I tried to post a thread asking these questions, and it quickly deteriorated
into the obligatory "9mm is just fine" and "Shot placement" thread.
Use an eight-round K9 magazine and add a couple of bullets to your PM9.

Ok, here goes........
The PM45 is not a true "Pocket Gun" like the PM9. But.........It is still lighter and more compact than a Glock 27. I use to carry the 27 in my vest holster with 135Gr. rounds to keep the weight down and it still bounced up and down when I ran. No so with the PM45 loaded with 185 grainers.
I'm very happy with it's reliability after 150 rounds or so. Not one jam or hickup. You can easily carry it in an ankle holster if you wanted, but it is bigger than your 9. Having said that, I am a .45 guy and hate the 9mm. So I would put up with the PM45 instead.
It's my secondary. As a primary, make sure you break it in better than I have before carrying it. Good luck.

I never carry a pistol unless it has 1,000 trouble free rounds through it.
It will only be my primary for a short time. I will be going back to uniform
soon (Hopefully)
So I notice that the pm45 is actually as tall as the p9/40 frame (4.49 vs 4.5)... now I figure most of that increase (from pm9/45) is in the slide, but can you manage to get three fingers on board the grip itself?

I don't have my pinkie hanging off the end. It's a regular grip unless your a giant.

That's a BONUS. When I first heard PM 45, I thought of the PM 9 which requires the extended mag for your pinky to ride. This is probably the shortest you can get and still get all your fingers in. Awesome.

Like I said, the PM9 is pretty much a pocket gun on the large side. The PM45 is a serious sub compact. But definitely not a pocket gun. Close enough for me though.
