I like it, but I also keep a GOOD 2-point adjustable around so I can pick and choose which I feel like using... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3090/2333733874_f8b7c0c31d.jpg bukn77 04-28-2008, 21:24 I was originally going with a 2 point but my buddy talked me into this one. Branspop 04-28-2008, 21:58 Good primer on sling types http://www.vickerstactical.com/Tips/carbineSlings.htm MrMurphy 04-29-2008, 03:22 Having spent the last several years wearing a M4 8-16 hours a day, climbing into/out of vehicles, turrets, doing building entries, climbing up and down ladders, patrolling, dragging simulated casualties and everything else, I prefer the quick release 2 point. I've used the 3 pt for most of this stuff and the extra strappage just gets in the way. A 1 pt was a real pain for me and exceedingly nonuseful for anything beyond room clearing. Your experiences may vary, but I know which one "I" want. bukn77 04-29-2008, 19:55 MrMurphy, the 2 point I was going to get was the blue force vickers. What 2 point do you like? My middy does have a heavy stainless barrel so the 2 point was my first option. I guess I' ll try the single and see what I think. Branspop 04-29-2008, 20:26 I guess I' ll try the single and see what I think. Make sure you wear a cup  As Mr. Murphy says, they are great for room clearing and transitions. They are woefully inadequate for just about anything else. MrMurphy 04-29-2008, 22:25 The 2 pt Vicker VCAS is probably about the best one out there currently. My unit downrange was going to get them for everyone but it didn't go through. Tried that with my home unit too, no luck ($50 sling X500 gets expensive). MrMurphy 04-30-2008, 03:32 The discount still meant we ended up paying in the multi-thousands. We're not a SEAL team, we're a SFS and the budget is tight most of the time. We had to get a hefty paycheck (one time) from our MAJCOM to upgrade to the new ACU pattern body armor (newer generation Interceptor, like what's being used in Iraq, with side plates etc) and new tac vests (like seen in Andrewsky's post in T&T in ACU). That came out to over a million. When you start talking about outfitting the equivalent of a Army short battalion (400-500 people), anything that costs more than $20 apiece is not going to be cheap! Keep in mind that Brownells offers military discounts. The Vickers would still be out of your price range, even without the discount. http://www.brownells.com/mille/aspx/training.aspx Maybe you should try a couple of these these: https://www.rockymountaintactical.net/?page=shop/details&product_id=32& MrMurphy 04-30-2008, 08:08 Well going direct with the manufacturer is often the cheapest (they could go low but not insanely low). I just recieved, free from Brigade Quartermaster in a order, in their "gear for the good guys" a Blue Force Gear Victory sling (the mass-produced less expensive model, with plastic adjustment buckle instead of metal). I'll testing and reviewing it. bukn77 04-30-2008, 21:07 thanks for the responses guys. I cant believe you all gave me more replies than the other sight.
