Anybody have one/shot one? If so, how do you like it?
I am getting ready to put one in layaway. I figure its a good entry-level first AR-15. I am waiting on the local police supply to get his order in so I can check it out. Any comments or suggestions?

I've got an RRA mid-length A4 and it's been 100% reliable since day one.

proud RRA CAR A4 owner, has been flawless. I actually have two RRA uppers, I don't think you can get better quality for the money, kind of like the glock of ARs. After looking at the wait times for RRA I decided to go with a Stag rifle kit from legal transfers on my last build and have to admit it's on par or better than the RRAs.
RRA A4 flawless so far.
Great rifle.

I’m thinking about getting a stag lower, can you elaborate on how it’s better?

I don't have any stag lowers..but on the uppers, the ability of the bolt to slide in to battery without friction, the accuracy, the fit, the finish, the reliability, ++ on rra and the stag.
My del-ton and eagle lack a slight but measurable amount in all of the above. The bushmaster I have since bought/sold I don't think was as "nice". All of my ARs have DPMS lowers..but I'd like to think the quality is parallel - their lowers I'm sure are just as good. I guess what I'm getting at is for a few dollars more than the "generic" brands you can get a rifle/rifle part(s) that will meet and possibly exceed the standard without spending the money on the more expensive manufacturers (*COUGH COLT ARGHHHHAAAHHEEEMMM* :))
As far as the lower goes I'm a firm believer that in many ways it IS the most important part of the build and price/quality should not be skimped, but it is either in spec, or it isn't. I've had zero issues with any of my DPMS lowers and I get an Awesome deal from my local guy on them. Plus, I really don't like how the deer looks on stag lowers...I get to save money, get a lower that is IMO just as good that has a cool ass panther on it..anyways:supergrin: ymmv a great deal here!

I have only two issues with the RRA middy.
The Hbar barrel is too heavy for my liking.
Carrier key staking is less than optimal.
But neither is a deal killer and the carrier can be restaked easily.
some people actually like the heavy barrel

Thanks for the info.
I love mine. Any 16" I ever buy will be a middy. The middle rifle is my RRA Elite CAR.
