Gentlemen and Ladies
I am looking for some help...does anyone have pro's or con't reference this red dot scope...
Tasco Propoint 1x32mm 5 MOA Red Dot Rifle Scope PDTS132
I have heard many good things, with the only concern being I would more than likely need to mount it on extra high rings as it sits fairly low and will not allow me to use the iron sights should the scope fail.
I have found it for $108 on opticplanet.com, i would love to have an EOTech, but $400 is a little scarce right now.
Any info would be greatly appreciated...

I recently picked one up for my cousins SKS. The dot is extremely bright, easily the brightest red dot I've used. On low it's as bright as my BSA RD30 is on high. The glass has a bluish tint to it that's pretty visible, but it isn't a huge deal. It's pretty light weight, and the flip-up caps that come with it are pretty decent. I'm not fond of the mounting ring, though.
They're supposedly made in the same factory in Korea as the Burris XTS. There are 3 or 4 different companies selling the same sight, but they're built to slightly different spec. The Burris supposedly gets better gaskets and O-rings to make it even more waterproof.
Battery life is unknown, but as bright as it is you can use lower levels to conserve power.

Thanks Chevrofreak for the information. I am still up in the air. OpticPlanet.com raised the price $10, but if it does live up to what I have heard about it, it would be worth. I looked at a tasco trophy that i liked at Gander Mountain for $119 and a Bushnell for $250. But still keep coming back this one at $118.
