Hi. I have a 16" stainless bull barrel on my M4. It has no flash hider. I was thinking about have the barrel fluted. How much does this usually cost?

Barrel Fluting: Entire Barrel $120.00
Flutes along the entire length of the barrel. See above for specifics.
Barrel Fluting: Under Handguard $79.00
If you have a barrel that is a tapered contour, we cannot offer the fluting service. There is an additional $50 charge for assembly/disassembly if the barrel is sent as part of a complete upper. Re-parking is included in the price.

So that would be $170 including return shipping unless you pop your barrel your self. which can be done with a $40 tool.
way less than a new barrel.
I lose my bet.
A quick look at JSE shows flutes for $190.
In both cases, the price is high in my opinion.
Barrel fluting requires cyrogenic stress relief to maximize any advantage the fluting might offer and this will add another $40.00 to the cost unless the two companies listed do this as part of the price in which case the prices begin to look a bit more in line.

Presuming the issue is too much weight. How about just having Adco turn it to gummint profile?
A HBar M4gery makes no sense to me (no offense:supergrin:) as it is just too heavy. I'd do something to put your carbine on weight watchers; fill the handguards with hydrogen?
