I was not happy with the magazine catch in my wifes PM9 serial VD33xx. Rather than getting stressed out calling Kahr I just ordered a new one and a new spring. (I don't thing the spring was necessary!) At any rate the replacement parts are all metal as opposed the the steel insert in the plastic one. The swap was fairly straight forward - and yes, I am now happy. The positive sound it now makes is music to my ears!
Just one question, why is a gun of recent mfg not have the more substantial release in it?:dunno::dunno::dunno:

I replaced both the magazine releases on my PM-9 and P-40, too. I'm much happier with the metal ones. My guess for the plastic ones would be either to reduce weight and/or cost. I think a plastic part with that much pressure on it from a spring would have been better being made originally in metal.
can i order of the PM9 section of their website, or should i call? id like to replace mine with a metal catch as well. i see the part on their website, but it doesnt specify plastic vs metal. please let me know how you ordered. thank you!

I just ordered it straight off the parts list - taking a chance it would be the metal one! Got lucky I guess!

Is it part # 017PM9BS? from the PM9 parts list?
Is it shiny stainless or have the blackened DLC finish?

Yes, part 017PM9 - yours must be the black slide for the BS addition. It is blackened finish.
