these are carbon steel guns - right?

pic of my E9 (AM prefix) and K9 (AE prefix)

I thought they were parkerized over carbon steel but the K9 is showing heavy wear on the edges of slide down to shiny metal, and E9 showing same at the nose of the slide..... yet they do not rust.....

Im not exactly the poster child for meticulously oiling them either

is there any chance there is stainless underneath there?

Im tempted to strip the parkerizing off and polish them - starting with the K9

My stainless K9 says "stainless" on it. So if yours doesn't, it probably isn't. If you call or email Kahr with the s/n, they will tell you what it is.

For ccw, can you tell any difference between the two grip materials? Do you have a preference?

I prefer the "stickier" grips of the K9 - it just feels better to me

I suppose that the "slicker" grips of the E9 wouldnt grab clothing as much but Kahrs are so tiny that I dont see that as a huge problem

having said that - both guns shoot the same - cant tell a difference by looking at the targets

just got a CW9 but havent fired it yet - looking forward to comparing all three at the range
