Hello,
I've been looking at Ashley Express (now XS or something) sights for my 1911.
These look like a really good idea - not precision sights to be sure, but I'm not looking to make it a target gun.

These look like they'd be good for shooting under stress as many people tend to want to raise the front sight out of the notch on traditional sights when stressed. These are designed to shoot this way, and are copied from the fast acquisition express sights found on big game rifles.
I've narrowed the choice to these, or a "combat adjustable" with front blade, as these outline well in the dark.
Does anyone have experience with the express style sight on a handgun?
Thanks,

i have them on my glock 33, had them on my model 21 that i sold and will be putting them on my model 29, i think they are a great sight, very fast target acquisition, and surprisingly accurate, mine are the big dots, tritium front, but nor rear, love them, they will probably end up on all of my handguns.
Hmmm, I count at least 7 threads going on the first 3 pages on XS sights, Big Dots

Yes......they're like Ford Vs Chevy or 9mm vs 45. You either love them or hate them.
I have them on my G30 and have thousands of rounds through XS sighted pistols. For what they are intended for, they are very fast, more than accurate enough, and with practice can be used for longer ranges (50 yard headshots and 100 yard body shots have been done on video, I've done 50 yard headshots offhand just out of curiousity myself.)
I have a set on my 26. As a BUG, I figure things are gonna be up close & personal, and they work great in that arena.
Many shooters claim they can hit with precision, after a bit of getting used to them.
I suggest the BIG Dot~

Hi guys Id have to say after using this sighting system now on a G 19,23.32.33.21SF,20 and 29 that they are really great. Remember these are designed as a defensive type sight. They aren't Bo Mars on a Gold Cup Colt. They were not meant to be either. Most of the encounters with a Zombie are going to be at a distance about the length of your front hallway. Or out to about ten yards. And Mostly in the dark. Under these very stressful situations you will find that you will need a sight that you can put on the "Target" without too much distraction. You will still be able to see if he is carrying a knife or a cell phone without loosing your sight picture or focus. I recomend these to anyone who might find themselves in a situation where finding a row of three little tritium lamps aligned perfectly in 2/5 of a second is doubtful if even possible. When split seconds count shot placement matters. Normally the one who places the first shot wins the fight. Don't let that be someone who should be in the back seat of a police wagon.
Also here is a link to how useful these sights can be a longer ranges once you learn how to use them.

Best of luck to all of you and Happy Memorial Day.
