Our first IDPA Match of the season at Scarborough Fish & Game on Holmes Road in Scarborough Maine was Sunday 27 April 2008.
We set up 7 stages within three shooting bays located on our brand new 8 Bay IDPA Range that was created by the Club late last fall. We ran two variations of a Bill Drill, Freestyle and Weak Hand. Then two variations of a Fred Drill (swinger), Freestyle and Strong Hand. Then, we did a traditional El Presidente. Then, we did Stage 3 String 1 from the Classifier Match, and immediately reloaded the shooter and followed up with Stage 3 String 2 from the Classifier.
We had 33 shooters, including 7 Staff Members. We had 4 shooters from over 50 miles away, one from New Hampshire, two Law Enforcement (non duty rig), several seniors, and two Lady shooters. The match began around 10:15 am, and wrapped up around 2pm ish. This was our first match on the new IDPA Range, and all the competitors gave the range, the match , and the staff (including several freshly minted S.O.s) rave reviews!
SF&G Now has the largest dedicated IDPA range in the state of Maine, and we will be hosting our first ever Maine State IDPA Match in October.
