View Full Version : 4th gen mags?
So are we considering the new mags with the SF cutout 4th gen? I just ordered 5 online and was curious if there is a distinction between them and 3rd gen mags? Thanks

Yes, they have a cut out for the Ambi release.... Not sure what an "SF" cutout is though. You answered your own question.
I meant the short frame cutout or the ambi mag release notch, however you want to put it. The SF's are the only ones with the ambi mag release right?

Yes and only if you have the ambi mag release. There are newer SF's with single mag release because the ambi was hitting on some poli holsters.
SF = Short Frame
MB = Ambi-magazine release
MB is an option on the Glock Model 21SF.
SF is not an option on the Glock Model 17MB and Model 19MB (both currently available in the EU).
I would also think that the ambi-mag cut magazines would be considered 8th generation magazines since it comes after the 7th generation.
