HELP STOP "SHOOT FIRST" IN OHIO!
DEADLY FORCE SHOULD NOT BE A FIRST RESORT
Dear Ohio Brady Campaign Member,
Soon, the State House of Representatives will consider SB 184/HB 264, bills that would allow a gun owner to shoot and kill another person from their car even when they could have safely gotten away. These bills eliminate a citizen's duty to avoid a threat and instead allows the gun user to "shoot first" and ask questions later...or never.
PLEASE CALL YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE STOP "SHOOT FIRST"!
Tell him/her: "Oppose SB 184/HB 264. Deadly Force Should Not Be a First Resort!"
This legislation permits the average citizen to bypass our entire justice system by permitting him or her to assume the role of police officer, prosecutor, judge, and executioner -- but it doesn’t stop there -- this bill also protects the shooter from criminal and civil liability!
Allowing people to use deadly force as a first resort can have deadly consequences for innocent bystanders who can be killed or injured in the crossfire.
Here is what you can do:
1. Call Your State Representative to Stop "Shoot First."
Tell him/her: "Oppose SB 184/HB 264. Deadly force should not be a first resort!"
