I picked up a duostock (www.duostock.com) for my AR-4.

I have an adjustable short stock, but I can't get the stupid plastic stock piece off the buffer tube. The leverage bar that withdraws the sprung post (holing the stock at each position stop) doesn't seem to be able to pull the post out far enough to totally remove the stock.

I know they had to get the darned thing on there somehow and most likely didn't mold the thing around the buffer tube....am I missing something here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I haven't bothered to take mine off, but don't you need to remove the pin in the housing that is on the adjuster lever? Take that out, and the locking pin should drop out and allow the stock to slide all the way off. I could be wrong, but thats what I gather by reading my gun manual.

squeeze the lock release lever and extend the stock all the way out; then pull down on the lock release lever and it will slide off the buffer tube

lindertw is right, instead of squeezing the locking mechanism, pull straight down on it, and it should slide off.

Pull the locking pin straight down so that it clears the notches in the tube and slide the stock off the tube.
