Eotech 551.A65....?

I have a chance to get an Eotech for about $150 new. I can pretty much have any model I choose. I was leaning towards an Aimpoint, but would be paying retail. So with the deal I've been offered I'm leaning towards Eotech, but I don't like their AA offerings due to size, but the 551 looked good. Any opinions concerning the 551? I'm not concerned about battery life, or finding N replacements...I think both those limitations are way overblown. N batteries are everywhere, and batteries are always going to die...usually at the worst time. I plan to carry spares, and any optic I used would be co-witnessed with irons. Anyone use a 551? Thanks.

I have a 552, bud uses a 511. Both are fine. If the price is the same, get the NV compatible version. Hell, if theyre all the same price, get the new laser ones.

I believe the NV compatible ones are different models....I don't know. The smallest ones I could find was the 551. Or the 553 with the ARMS levers which I don't want.

Honestly, if you want an Aimpoint but you can get any Eotech for $150, then get the most expensive one and sell it on ebay, take the money and buy the Aimpoint that you wanted to begin with. You might even come out ahead.

551/552/553 are the NV compatible ones in the basic models.
Eotech now makes a unit that incorporates a laser into the side- and even make one with an IR laser, tho you need to be LE/Military to get one.
