It may be. Try to find out some more info (like the serial number). That will help to determine what year it is. I have a like-new 1977 SP-1 that cost me $1K. It is wortharound $1500.

SP then first three numbers of serial numbers SP863XX and SP157XX so what does that mean.

SP863XX - circa 1978

SP157XX - circa 1970-71

If both if these SP-1s are in nice condition, then $900 would be a decent price for either one. If the SP157XX was at that price, I would snag it. It should be outfitted with a three prong flash suppressor and the SP863XX should have the birdcage flash suppressor.

If in good shape, grab the older one, still good price.

I wouldn't let $99 be a deal breaker, assuming good condition.
Local sport shop had one for $1500, but they finally had to sell it online.
