Received my Pro Load order today so it was time to do some shooting.
First gun: Glock 27 with Fire Dragon 3.5" 357 SIG barrel
GA 125 gr Gold Dot Shear Power Plus - Ave velocity 1297 fps
Pro Load 125 gr Gold Dot - Ave velocity 1384
High/1415 Low/1360 ES/55 SD/16
Second Gun: Glock 23 with 4.4" KKM 357 SIG barrel
GA Shear Power plus 1385 fps (from a previous chrono session)
Pro Load 125 gr Gold Dot 10 shots
Ave/1494 fps
High/1514
Low/ 1474
ES/ 40
SD/ 13
We then shot some 1 gallon milk jugs filled with water. The bullet penitrated 3 jugs completely and indented the 4th. We recovered the bullet on the Railroad tie we used to line up the jugs. It weighs 125.0 grains exactly, and is mushroomed picture perfect. Then I fired 6 more rounds over the chrono. Those 6 averaged 1502 fps with a SD of of 15. Now I am anxious to get a 6" barrel for my G35 and try these. Just to show a comparison between these and .357 Mag revolvers, I once had a 4" S&W L-frame and chronographed 2 different factory 125 gr JHP rounds. Winchester and Federal. Both averaged less than 1350 fps and remember, a revolver is measured from the forcing cone to the muzzle. A 4" revolver is equivalent to a 5.7" semi auto pistol barrel, if you measure from the rear of the cartridge case on both. The 357 SIG is truely a ballisticly efficient cartridge. For those interested in accuracy results, I'm going to put them on the bench rest after I get new glasses. At a half century in age, I can no longer shoot little groups at 25 yards without a scope. I am hoping a new eyeglasses presription helps.
A note of intrest: The GA rounds are loaded to an OAL of 1.118" , the Pro Load measures 1.130".
