View Full Version : Well I have officially joined the black rifle club, LMT upper and lower, questions
I just bought the upper to complete the build I began about two weeks ago, It is an LMT defender 2000 lower with ergo grip and standard telescoping stock, w LE markings, standard trigger, the upper is a lmt 16in standard upper with plain jane m4 hand guards and fa auto BCG. With LMT and buying an upper and lower separately or in general how much play should be between upper and lower, and is seeing daylight between upper and lower a problem. It is very little play maybe a few centimeters, maybe Im nitpicking, well tell me what you think, and is a case of m193 for 200 dollars a good price to feed this thing(500 rounds)?BUIS are on the way a yankee hill flip up rear site from bravo company are they any good? well thats enough from me tell me what you think?

A bit of play and daylight through the cracks is normal and affects nothing.
If you want the fit to be a bit tighter, you can install an Accu-Wedge.
1-9 or 1-7" barrel twist?
1-7s perform best with heavier bullets than 55 grain.
1-9 should shoot them just fine.
If you like to reload, I have had extremely good luck with Sierra 69 grain hollow point boattail match bullets in 1-7" twist barrels.

I have the exact same set up. My upper to lower fit was very tight. A little play is not abnormal and is nothing to worry about. As far as seeing “daylight” that’s probably not a problem but I would have expected a little better from LMT. You might want to give them a call. After you’ve shot it a little bit, let me know what you think of the trigger. Mine was rough and gritty. I put some Flitz on the sears and dry fired it a lot, it’s OK now.
That sounds like a decent price on the ammo if it’s good stuff.
