I have Tricare prime and am very happy. 2 years ago had neck surgery, bill was about $31,000. I paid $60.00 out of my pocket!

When you turn 65 and go on Medicare, TriCare picks up the difference and becomes your supplimental insurance. You don't need to buy any additional insurance. For you young guys who have never thought about stuff like that, it is a very good thing to have.

I've only used it once in the 4 years I've been retired. Optometry appointment...think I paid like $6. Wish I would have gone ahead and got Dental also though......
