Congrats!
The Kimber Custom Shop 1911s are nice.
I've got the Pro CDP II and Super Match II. Both have been awesome performers.
Good luck with yours and let's see some real pics!

Just goes to show you that you don't have to spend a gerand to get a super looking 1911!
Wait a minute, I guess you do! By the way that looks super, congrats!

Thanks guys. This is actually the first 1911 I have owned. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but will this weekend. I have 500 rounds and oil set aside.
I hope it doesnt puke.....:whistling:

It shouldn't. All three of my Kimbers have worked perfectly.

My TLE, albeit used, never hiccups on anything except SWC's. I have 100% confidence in it with ball and JHP ammo.

Man, I'm glad to hear that. I don't normally buy a lot of ammo for anything until its been tested with it, but I ordered 500 rounds of Federal LE HST for it last night. Of course if it doesn't like it, I have other .45s that should eat them without problem (GLOCKs).

You have a fine pistol, mi amigo.
May I suggest that you begin your evaluation with plain old .45 ACP 230-grain ball ammunition? This is what the pistol and magazines are made for. After 300 or so rounds of ball ammunition, then you can say, "Yeah, it works fine, now I can experiment with hollow points, semi-wad cutters and other exotic animals."
Kimber makes good magazines, but for me, the gold standard is the Wilson 47D. Get one or two.
Makes it easier to diagnose problems (not saying you'll have any) when you have a baseline of known reliable ammunition and known reliable magazines.
NB: when you go to your next gun show, buy some of the GI magazines ... you know, they $8 ones. Every 1911 owner is required to have a shoebox full of cheap magazines that don't work.

Tous, I picked up a few 47D mags when I bought the gun. I had about 500 rds. of Blazer Brass, 500 rds. of AE ball and lots of UMC in .45 ACP. I'm kind of planning on running about 100 or more rounds of each, then 50 each of the 230 HST, 230 HST +P, and the Gold Dot 200 +P. After that, a detail strip and into the safe.
I think I might have made a serious mistake buying a 1911. I haven't even shot this one yet and I'm already eye balling an Ed Brown. This reminds of a terrible case of Black Rifle Disease I had. Im still selling off guns from that period of stupidity.
I promise, after this next one, I will stop.......

That's the Custom II, which is Kimber's entry level 1911. Shoots great.

Good plan, mi amigo.
And 1911 disease wanes about your 7th pistol. Number 7 will be a Fusion.
Once you get 7 or more, if you find yourself lining them up and just sitting and admiring them ... your doomed. :faint:
That's a nice looking pistol, FastJuice.
