View Full Version : Short barrel shotgun
I am getting interested in obtaining a 14" 12 gauge shotgun.
I know there is some type of federal tax that has to be paid, but don't know if owner has to register every year like a class 3.
Is any one familiar with the law.
Thanks in advance for information.
Class 3 questions are probably best answered here (http://glocktalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=49)
Depending on what sort of configuration you are wanting will depend on how much tax stamp you have to pay. If you want it as a short barrelled shotgun with a stock on it, that will be the SBS tax of $200.00. Now if it was manufactured without a stock, as in a pistol grip only like the cruiser series from Mossberg, then it can be classified as an AOW (any other weapon) and the tax stamp is a mere $5.00. If it is registered AOW it can never have a stock put on it, otherwise you would need the 200 buck tax stamp. Those folks up at the free fire zone can probably answer your questions from here.
