hi all. yesterday i sold off my s&w 5906 , and immediately began the search at the gun show for a nice RIA 1911... i have been eyeballing one at my local range for quite some time , and finally said pee on it , im getting it...

i am very interested in getting some new grips , even though theres nothing wrong with the current grips...

im still going over the sticky links thread , and im sure ill find some great info there , but im curious as to whether or not the grips im looking at are ...well... grippy..

i was looking for some micarta grips , but i know a guy who works corian fairly well , and i am thinking of some corian grips... just curious if anyone has had this done...

im also interested in a new trigger and hammer... i am kind of overwhelmed by the sheer amount of how many triggers and hammers are out there...

i dont really like the 3hole triggers , but i have seen one (coincedently at the range) that is like a super skeleton version. its basically just the finger pad , and some bars that go into the frame. i really like this , and im hoping to find something like it , but i cant find anything besides black or silver...

i have yet to find a hammer that i like , so i was wondering what you all use for hammers ...

just sort of saying hi , and seeing if i can get you guys to post some pics of your custom 1911's...

The RIA is a good quality 1911. For the money, they are solid, well built pistols.

I actually like the smooth stock wood grips.

I think the trigger your talking about is the Chip McCormich. It's pretty much the same look as some of the STI's. heres a pic of my RIA.
