Night Sights - subtle?

Just got my first set of Tritium night sights. Novak by brand. Is subtle illumination the way these things are? In the dark, it is a soft glow - in the light, unnoticeable.

First time I saw night sights in the store I wondered what the fuss was about. Now after some practice with them they are on my short list of must-haves on a ccw gun. :cool:

They should look like this in the dark:

In the daylight they wont look any different then a standard white outlined sight.
