We had several new folks shooting with us tonight and want to thank them for trying GLIPSC. We hope you come back next week.
-----------
This week we thought we'd try something a bit different and shot 2 IDPA-style stages. Both were stressing strong hand only or weak hand only skills. They looked simple but were far more difficult than they appeared as the scores showed.
First stage - start sitting in a chair with your loaded gun on a barrel at P2, at the sound of the bugger, move to P2 and while using cover, engage 2 targets 3 rounds each in tactical sequence (engage each target once before reengaging for the remaining rounds needed).
Second stage - while sitting in a chair, your loaded gun is on a step stool directly in front of you - at the buzzer, retreive your weapon strong hand only, and while still sitting in the chair, engage 3 targets 2 rounds each - also in tactical sequence.
Neither was complicated, but with the no-shoots also present, it made for some interesting results.
Low total was winner.
28.88 Leigh Ann Jeter :courtsie:
33.73 Greg Hodges
36.96 John Whitt
37.13 David Byrd
38.61 Claude Wright
39.93 Dean Francisco
46.10 John Mason
47.04 Geary Laird
48.04 Otis Fox
66.08 Brett Laird
Next week, we should be shooting an IPSC-style match, so come with lots of ammo and be prepared for a draw and fire stage. We recommend that you have a belt, holster and at least 2 mag pouches for mag changes during the stage. Hope to see you all there. Bring your friends. We love having new folks come out and shoot with us. :wavey:
