Hello,
I'll be shooting my first match in a few weeks and want to know if any of you have a recomended spare parts list. I'll be shooting USPSA production devision with a G34. I was thinking of getting at least one of every spring, and a spare extractor. Any advice? Thanks.

Do what you think best but in the several years I've shot a G26, G17, G23 and Glock 34 open gun in competition nothing has broken. I did have a locking block on the G26 break while practicing but it kept working. I noticed it when cleaning. You might take a extra trigger spring I hear they do occasionally break.

I have had the pin that holds the slide stop and the slide stop itself break on my Glock but that's it. Regardless I carry a bag of spare parts with just about every part except the slide, barrel and frame. A must in my opinion is extra striker and trigger springs, locking block, spring cups, slide stop and pins. I have also seen my share of front sights fly off so I always have an extra with loctite for the screw on type.
With as many competitions I shoot in a year, I don't want to be slide-lined with a gun that never fails, when it finally does. Here's what I put in my spare parts bin, for "insurance":
# PART
3/4 Recoil spring assembly
6 Spacer sleeve
7 Firing pin spring
8 Spring cups
10 Firing pin safety spring
13 Extractor depressor plunger spring
18 Magazine catch spring
19 Magazine catch
20 Slide lock spring
23 Trigger mechanism housing with ejector
27 Slide stop lever
28 Trigger pin
29 Trigger housing pin
34 Locking Block Pin

Furthermore, here is another recent thread on the issue:

OK, thanks for the advice. I really doubt I'll have any breakage, but it's always nice to be able to take care of any problem on the spot.
I carry a G19. It comes to all my matches.
If necessary, I can cannibalize it. I have a ton of spare parts from trying this widget and that widget in my 34. Another Glock in a similar caliber, a locking block, pins, recoil assembly, and trigger spring will cover almost anything short of a cracked frame or slide. :)
Whatever you do, order an armorers tool with your next purchase. I put it off forever because an allen wrench or 3/32" punch works pretty well. Trust me, it's worth $6 many times over. I still kick myself for delaying that one.
I just bring a spare gun.
i keep a spare gun as well after having a part fail after a 13 hour trip to a match.
The most common issue I have had is the trigger spring hook breaking off. The gun keeps working but you have a reset problem. I broke 4 in the last 3 years (34 = 3 times- shot the most). The only other issues I have had with my 9 Glocks is 1 broken slide release spring (23) and 1 broken take down spring (23). I do change the springs after 5000 - 8000 rounds just to be safe. I don't understand the issue with the 34 - I have started to change the trigger spring every 2500 rounds and have had not issues.

I have every part on a Glock but the spare part I need most for my G34 is a G17.

I shoot a G34 in Production or SSP. I never go to a match without my G17. I never had to pull out the G17, but I know the match I forget to bring the G17 is the match my G34 will fail me.
