I'm seriously thinking of replacing my G-26 with a Kahr cw9. My G-26 has been flawless through many rounds (600+). I still feel that the Glock is a little too bulky to carry.
I have replaced other guns for carry as well, and still have not come up with the ONE that will satisfy my need for power, low weight, concealability and reliability.

I'm really enjoying the CW9 I just bought. Just got finished doing the 200 round break-in and it was flawless. I was carrying an XD-40 service model, and it was just too bulky due to the thickness. I actually think I shoot the CW9 a little better than the XD-40. Like I said, I haven't had it long, but I really like it. I carry everyday in a Smartcarry (khakis and polo or dress shirt for work).

Go for it, you won't regret it. As I write this I am just getting home from the range after putting another 200 jam free rounds through my CW9. I now have just about 2000 rnds total. I have had 2 FTF that were both magazine related...as in I didn't clean them through t he first 700 rounds :embarassed: . They were so nasty from all that ammo PLUS a couple months of holster free boot carry(read LINT), that it is a miracle the I only had two malfuntions.

Just prior to my range trip today I replaced my recoil spring and added a Bedair SS guide rod. I'm going to stick to the 2000rnd recoil spring replacement scheduale to keep the gun, which I carry daily, in top form.

I never hold those two operator induced FTFs against the gun which has proven to be THE most reliable semi-auto pistol I've owned to date. I have used a wide variety of both ball and HP ammo and the CW doesn't seem to be picky, it feeds and fires everything that goes into it.

As far as carry goes, IMHO Kahr has very few equals when it comes to concealable, lightweight, accurate and reliable guns. You simply forget you are armed, but if needed I have complete faith my CW9 will deliver when the chips are down.

You can't ask for much more than that

What holster do you use to carry it? I have an M-Tac, and I was thinking if I get the Kahr, for $35 I can buy a kydex insert.

My main mode of carry is in my boot(very comfortable with no holster), in jacket/sweater seasons I use fobus C-21B on the back of my hip. I also use the inside pocket of my jackets. The counter weight of my wallet and a spare mag on the other side of my jacket prevents any sag. Boot and jacket carry are unchambered.

I am currently looking for a good small of back holster, so I can carry with an untucked T-shirt and shorts. Any suggestions?

If it makes you feel any better, I traded a P9 for a GLOCK 27. Then sold the 27 and, I bought a CW40. I stepped up in caliber and capacity, but as much as I liked the 27, it was just too thick to conceal easily. If I could carry the 27 I might as well carry my GLOCK 23C. I think it is a step in the right direction.

I switched over from carrying a G26, to a Kahr P9. I really liked both guns, but the Kahr conceals a lot easier for me. (Thinner is better!)

Did you try loosening the adjustment screw to compensate for the Kahrs wider trigger guard? Thats all I needed to do and it fits like a glove. It snaps in nice and is easy to pull out quickly.

At ~$350, the C.W. 9 might cheap enough to add without sacrificing your GLOCK (I.E. don't replace, supplement)!

Not to hijack the thread, but have you considered the PM45? The size of that pistol is simply awesome and guess what, it will fit in leather holsters designed for the G26/G27.

I have the CW9 now but carried a G26 for years. The CW wins hands down for concealment and comfort in shooting. I love the grip much better than the 26. I do carry an extra mag with the CW where I often didn't with the 26 but that isn't too much of an issue.
