I put a TAC-star magazine extension on my Winchester 120 and now am debating whether to buy the TAC -star magazine extension barrel clamp and a clamp on light rail or a mesa tactical clamp with the picatinny rail on it. Anyone have experience with either of these products? The mesa tac one looks pretty nice but would probably cost over two times as much as the other route.

Having used Tacstar....if you can afford it, go with Mesa Tactical. Much better quality.

Not a big fan of barrel clamps myself.....do you just want to add a light, or what?

I do want to add a TLR-1, yes. I also feel that an extension/barrel clamp provides some additional stability and security to the magazine extension, to help resist damage.

IMO, a barrel clamp is mandatory on any shotgun with an extended mag tube. I have seen more than one tube come off the gun, and its not pretty.

As for the clamp, nothing TacStar makes will ever compare to anything Mesa makes. Period.

HUGE +1

The only thing tac star I ever had was a huge POS.
