p40's and reloads

I have a used p40 and recently started reloading my own ammo. The pistol runs fine on factory ammo, but I have problems popping up when I use my reloads. I have tried them in other pistols such as XD,H&K and glocks and have no problems. Should just stick with factory ammo for practice?

You might post over in the reloading forum, but I can tell you it was a little fickle but I got mine working. Keep adjusting the OAL and crimp. I load a 155g Rainier over 7.3g of Longshot (starting load for 165g, well below max) and I got it working after a few tries.
