First used gun I've ever bought and I've been buying for about 18 years. I went in to have a K40 shipped to the shop and saw it sitting there. It's got the black finish with regular sights. This gun is about ten years old I'm guessing. I'd rate the condition at 95%, maybe better. I field stripped it and examined the magazines carefully, this gun has hardly been shot. The one thing that I'll have to change is the recoil spring. It seems weak compared to my P9. It came with the old manual and the old lock. $500 OTD. It looks beautiful with the wood grips I bought in anticipation of getting a K40. I'm really glad I ended up with the black, I was'nt going to get black. I'll put at least 200 rds. through it tommorrow morning. I'm just hoping I did'nt buy somebody's lemon. I'll take some pics when I get hold of a digital camera, I've never seen a black one with the wood grips and I think you all will agree it looks nice.

Can someone please let me know when exactly this gun was produced? Serial # is DAO***. Thanks!

I just put 200 rds. through it. Unlike my polymer 9mm Kahrs, this gun will chamber the first rd. of a mag pulling the slide back when it's closed. It's accurate but recoil was more noticeable than I thought it would be considering the weight. I shot 100 180's and 100 165's, all Speer Lawman. I'll probably stick to 180's in all my 40's now. I staggered a few mag's and even the noise was signifigantly louder with the 165's. I had earplugs in and was outside.

Two things happened from it being a perfect session, once each. The slide did'nt go into full battery when I used the slingshot method and the slide did'nt lock back when the mag was empty. Those happened early on and either one would'nt be an issue if I needed it for SD, even if I had to reload since I train even on my GLOCKS using the slide release. I will be putting a 22# Wolff recoil spring in, just in case the stock 20# that's in there is a bit warn out.

I can't complain, I saved $250 and got a nice gun that works. I'll try to post pics when I get a chance.
