View Full Version : Anyone Use the Amazon Kindle to Read Books?
Does anyone have an opinion on the Kindle device used to read books? Sounds pretty neat and I've heard good things about it. Does anybody have one? Likes? Dislikes?
Looks like the price has dropped to $359 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FI73MA/104-4731057-2539934?ie=UTF8&tag=thwarren-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B000FI73MA
The guys at the library were playing with one. On the whole it was a cool piece of electronics. I don't often buy books, unless it's one I know I'll use more than once.
When it comes to books, I like to treat it like music. I'll buy it, but want the hard copy. I would never pay for mp3s. I would buy the disk, them make my own.

I've never even heard of this before, so thanks for the heads up.
Anything I read, I like the hard copies. The last thing I want is to staring at a screen for any longer than I have to.
Looks like a cool idea and I suppose that if you read 4 or more books a month it would be useful and cheaper, with most books at $9.99.

If I wanted to read on my screen, I would use my PC or laptop. That is a pretty pricey gimmick. The electronic book concept comes and goes in cycles. It has never really caught on.
I too like a hard copy. There is also something nice about having a well stocked bookshelf.
