Typical of all HK products they are well built, well designed, but quirky styling and tehy are expen$ive. I carry a .357 compact for certain duties and when off duty. Use a Milt Sparks holster and mag pouch setup. It is accurate, reliable and has never failed me. I carry 125 Speer Gold Dots.

I have found the USP Compact in 357 Sig to be reliable and accurate, but in my experience it has significan muzzle flip when compared to the lower provile of a Glock 32.

Also as an editorial comment, I don't think H and K are as cool as they seem to think they are. They have lousy customer service and are incredibly arrogant to deal with.

And I'm the opposite! Sigs and HK's seem "right" to me yet I just can't GET the general publics fascination with Glocks! To each his own.

Used a HK when I was Recon USMC (9mm). Also used Beretta M9 (also 9mm). Of the Glock, HK and Sig .357's I've fired, Glock wins my a landslide. HK is overrated and $$$. Sig isn't nearly as durable as Glock or HK. Glock is all biz, durable as a boat anchor, reliable enough to place your life on the line with, and relatively inexpensive.

Have the HK C-357. Very nice gun. I like the control features--3 ways to carry the hammer.

In side-by-side shooting with my G32, the 32 shoots tighter groups. Not much however.

My only thought is the HK cost $250 more on average. Not sure it is that much better.;P

Still a really nice piece. :)

i had an HK usp in 40, regret getting rid of it. wish i had got a 357sig bbl and kept it, but the expense of the MAGS, and the money invested in the whole package, i got 2 guns on trade.

i prefer the sig over glock because my fat hands just get ate up by glocks when i get a high grip on them, HK's don't... .

i personally thought my HK 40 had less recoil than any glock 40 i shot. and returned to target quicker.

I was planning to get an HK USP357 Compact, and even paid for it in full, but the dealer was unable to get one from HK within a reasonable time frame. I'm bummed. I ended up applying the funds toward a Remington 700 VSSF in .223.

But, in anticipation of getting the HK USP357 Compact, I bought a genuine factory HK USP40 Compact barrel for it from Cal's. It's brand new and unused. I bought it for $165 plus shipping, but will sell it for $165 shipped. If interested, send me email (lunde@adobe.com).

I am in LOVE with my stainless USP-C .40 which I got brand new for like $550.00 shipped on of "thefiringline.com" (AWESOME price). I aggree with the others that muzzle flip in USP-Cs is more than other weapons of comparable size, but they have the most natural feel to me. Large frame Glocks like the 17/22 or 21 are horribly uncomfortable for me. Shooting those causes pain that radiates down my arm from my hand. And no, it's not my technique! Have not had any probelems since I swiched to carrying the Beretta 96 (required, not by choice). The HKs point extremely naturally. In my opinion perceived recoil is greater in the .40S&W, so the .357 is probably the same way. You'll love it if you get it, and I think it is worth the price, though H&K customer service does suck.

Well, I was finally able to get an HK USP357 Compact. It was worth the wait. It handles remarkably well. I had kept the factory HK USP40 Compact barrel, so it's a two-caliber gun.
