Just about done, now he needs to take the water and get it tested to see what kind/how much chemicals need to go in.

I stuck my hand in the water yesterday while Hubby was vaccuming it out. Ours felt pretty warm already.
Nothing really fancy, just something the kids can get in and have a good time and I can be on my float "laying out" with them.

No, nothing really fancy. Just one of those little frame pools (sold at WalMart and Sam's). We do have an above ground pool that my SIL gave to us (5ft deep...it is oval), but we have to get a new liner for it before we can put it up. We did go ahead and hook the pump up to his frame pool that we have to make sure the pump still worked. So far so good.

Ours is a little above ground but it's nice to cool off in and real nice to look at. I'm thinkin about gettin one of those fountain attachments for it.

The one we have now is like this one:

But with a much bigger pump on it. The first year we tried the little one, but could not keep the water clear. This pump for the bigger above ground pool works GREAT!!!!!!

I know several people that had trouble with the small pumps on those pools. I haven't seen one that was near big enough for the pool.
Here's mine before I was done landscaping. It's about as much pool as I feel like taking care of.

Yep, he's pretty handy. He has talked about getting a bobcat out there to dig out for the new one only because it is oval (I think we found out it was the biggest of the oval ones made.
He's reading up on how to run the outlet to the shed so that we don't have to have an extention cord run across the yard for the pump.
We have priced the new liner and looks like it is going to cost us around $400.
Our Chocolate Lab has figured out how to climb the latter and get in. We see her "swimming" alot when she is out.

but not way up in the air

So no need for too many chemicals that make you less wealthy.
Rouge stool in the pool is seriously uncool.

It makes me go :outtahere: should it float near.

We have a kit, too. BUT we also take a sample of our water to our pool supply company, too. They also give us a print out of what we need...., too!
I feel more comfortable letting our pool company analyze the water.
If you don't keep the water in good balance, it can damage the pump and the pool.

We have two liquid solutions that we place in "test tubes" so to speak, with
pool water, with a color scale to determine certain things about the water.

There is reportedly a chemical that you can put in your pool to enable you to
tell if someone has.....
I don't know how true that is....
Would be funny at this point because mostly just adults utilize our pool!

Urban legend, and used to make kids hold it in.
The main thing "chemical X" could react with to make a tell-tale purple cloud would be the ammonia/nitrates/urea, and to some degree or another that's just in our sweat too.
Although SAY you did it, and then put a little packet of purple dye in someone's swimming trunks, that would be a good gag.

My parents called code enforcement on a house across the street from them. The renters let the pool go so far it was black in color...they had snakes. It was Florida.
